North Texas Marine Partners with Monterey Boats

There’s a new brand at North Texas Marine, and we’re thrilled to tell you all about it. Our boat dealership locations in Texas are proud to have partnered with Monterey Boats, one of the largest manufacturers of stern-driven and inboard fiberglass boats in the country. Most importantly, Monterey is an independently owned and family-operated company, just like our Texas boat dealer. 

Owned by brothers Charles and Jeff Marshall, Seabring Marine, d.b.a. Monterey Boats, has been in business for almost 40 years. Today, their two main manufacturing plants in Williston, Florida make up about 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space — but it’s a success story that has been built over many years in the boat-building industry.

History of Monterey Boats

Back in 1985, the Marshalls opened with just five employees, two boat models (a 19-foot cuddy and a bowrider), and two dealers in Florida and New York. Then in 1999, they tragically lost everything when a fire destroyed their main plant, forcing them to relocate to a smaller building. But the business bounced back, and just three years later, they purchased Blackfin Boats, a manufacturer known for its offshore fishing boats.

Now Monterey Boats is the largest private employer in Levy County, with more than 600 full-time boat builders.  They have over 150 dealers and more than 40,000 boats built throughout their history, in stark contrast with their humble beginnings. The brand has earned numerous awards over the years, most recently including the National Marine Manufacturers Association's Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award for the 18th year in a row, which they received in February 2023.
